The checks: confirm driver support for the operating systems your team actually runs, verify the real resolution your output needs—not the maximum the spec sheet advertises—and agree on color tolerance (measured in Delta E) before any client-facing job. Why I sound so sure

I'm a quality and brand compliance manager at a commercial printing equipment company. My job is checking every configuration before it reaches customers: drivers tested, specs confirmed, sample output reviewed. It's not glamorous, but it catches problems before they become client complaints.

In my first year, I made the classic beginner mistake. I approved a setup assuming "latest driver" meant "correct driver" for the client's operating system. It didn't.
